Local 353 of the I.A.T.S.E. was originally organized as a mixed Local of projectionists and stagehands. We are the Union behind entertainment in Port Jervis and Sullivan County NY. We were originally the Borscht Belt Local. We had several theaters in our jurisdiction and stagehands working at all of the Catskills’ hotel stages. And then came Woodstock. We had members who worked at the original Woodstock Festival as well as the subsequent concerts that lead up to the building of the Bethel Woods Center for the Performing Arts. We are the Union to call to support entertainment in Port Jervis and Sullivan County.
